I did the dreaded swimsuit shopping today...

While I am pleased to say my top half looked fantastic. My lower half wasnt as fantastic..lol..
It might have alot to do with the fluroscent lighting, as my legs dont look that bad in natural lighting. But needless to say, it gave me a shock.

Tell me...whats the strict to great legs all over?

I refuse to use genetics as an excuse. All athletes have great legs...and I am sure somewhere in their genetic pool is someone with bag legs.

Most athletes do have "athletic genes", so don't totally discount genetics. Especially when we're talking about things like cellulite. You can minimize the appearance by staying hydrated, avoiding sodium (and dairy is allegedly a culprit), weight training the legs, and keeping lean in general. But, again, a lot of it has to do with where your genetic blueprint likes to arrange things, so we just have to work with the plan we have.

babyhands -

I think running and losing weight is the only thing that has ever helped my legs. I have bulky muscular legs, so any sort of weight training or heavy resistance exercise is no good for me...just bulks up my muscles. I am pretty sure I will never have long lean legs, but when I lose weight my legs do look better.

Running and jogging on flat ground are in my opinion the best exercise for leaner legs. If you want to tone and build muscle that's a different story.
