I've heard this isn't a good idea but never why. My 16 month old has been getting up at 5 am and wants to be in bed with us. At first I didn't mind but now that I'm pregnant, its just too early and she's becoming quite used to it. Would it be terrible to make her a bottle and just give it to her???

At 16 months she shouldn't be using a bottle anymore. At least that's what most docs say. Does she fall back asleep right after having that bottle? Or is she falling asleep because she's in bed with you? You might be forming a bad habit by bringing her into bed at that age, but you never know what kids are going to do. I understand being totally exausted being pregnant with a toddler...I've been there. Would putting her to bed a bit later buy you some more time?

The reason you shouldn't give them a bottle in the crib is because it can damage their teeth. I think it's called bottle tooth decay....do a search for that and you will find loads of info on this.
