Well, we just bought a house and spent this past weekend pulling up the old lineoleum flooring in the kitchen to get at the hardwood floors beneath it. Now I am finding out that old lineoleum can contain asbestos. It's too late now I guess. We have a dog and a 2 year old who were there when we pulled it up. Did I ruin his life by giving him cancer?? I had no idea there was asbestos in flooring. I thought it was an insulation attic type thing. Is there a way to find out if we have been exposed? When will we die of cancer if it is full of asbestos?

I wouldnt worry about it too mich. You don't generally die from Cancer from Asbestos..the fibers from the Asbestos can't be expelled from the lungs and if you have been around for years you can't breathe. People who were exposed to Asbestos generally die from Cardiac Arrest because the heart cant pump blood fast enough to keep you with plenty of o2 . I don't really think you have anyting to worry about but ask you fanily Doctor to set your mind at ease, It takes years of breathing that in to get sick from it from what I have been told.
