I take my last Zoloft pill tomorrow and after that, I have to buy my RX. The doctor gave me samples that lasted about 3 months, since Zoloft doesn't come in generic. Anyway, I have noticed that I do not worry about things as much as I used to, but my compulsions are not much better. I can sit and pluck hairs for an hour or so, I really get stuck doing a compulsion and it wastes so much time. What other med should I ask my doctor about trying? I hate to spend the money on Zoloft and it not work for my compulsions. My insurance company pays 100% of any generic drug, so that's why I am also looking towards one..Can anyone offer me any advice? I have a short time to make my decision...

Just a little piece of advice. I don't know what State you live in but I am in Canada and I take the generic for Zoloft. It is called Sertraline. Ask your pharmasist about it. Sometimes the Dr.'s and even pharmasists don't like to tell you when there are generics available for political reasons. I would recommend that you ask the pharmasist outright about the generic and if you don't like the answer you get then call around to other pharmacies and see what answers you get. It is certianly worth a shot. I can't advise you on what meds might be better for your compulsions as I don't have that specific problem but the sertraline seems to work for my intrusive thoughts, most of the time anyway!
Good Luck
Ty
