ok - so i have just been diagnoised as a diabetic.

After paying cash for the last 3 months or so for doctors and lab tests.
I have just been offered a job and will have insurance immediately.

however, since most ins. co's do not cover pre-existing what do you do to get around this and have them cover your meds and additional doctor appts?
since diabetes is such a common diagnosis I can't imagine all these companies turning away people.

There's a big difference between individual and group insurance, you should be covered, but some have like a waiting period for pre-existing conditions. Group plans have many clients over which to spread the risk of expenses, not like individual plans.
