DS has never had stinky poos, lately they have been horrible! Not only stinky, but wetter than normal. He is breastfed, so they are wet always, but I can definetly tell a difference. Any idea why?

roxyfoxy 01-24-2006, 09:00 AM DS has never had stinky poos, lately they have been horrible! Not only stinky, but wetter than normal. He is breastfed, so they are wet always, but I can definetly tell a difference. Any idea why? Gayle0000 01-24-2006, 10:48 AM Ha Ha! We have been having this too. We started cereals about 3 weeks ago, and her diapers are now starting to change slightly from that...but I do know what you mean...every once in a while even before the solids I'd get some crazy diapers now and then. I just chalked it up to growing up, body system changing, and eliminating what her little body didn't need at that moment. Just last night, my husband changed a crazy diaper that he described as "foamy...almost carbonated". Too funny. Mommie-2-B 01-24-2006, 11:15 AM That's so funny Gayle!!! I'm laughing my butt off :) My DS is breastfed too and I have noticed that some of his diapers are stinkier than others. I'm not sure why!! roxyfoxy 01-24-2006, 01:56 PM Its so bad, if someone else is holding him when he goes, they hand him off immediately! DH says its me stinking up the room! He doesn't think a little 2 mos old could do something that horrid! Ratatosk 01-24-2006, 04:33 PM has your child always been like this or just recently? DH's cousin had some sort of digestive problem as a young child -- later outgrew it, but his mom talked about horrible nasty smelling foamy green stools. Had all kinds of tests and finally she gave him rice cereal with banana and that seemed to sort of stabilize him. Of course in this situation, the child also had failure to thrive (wasn't gaining any weight) and they were concerned it was celiacs or CF. roxyfoxy 01-24-2006, 08:29 PM It just started recently and he is gaining weight normally. 15lbs at 2 months. dannysmom 01-25-2006, 12:01 PM Does he seem to be sick? Rotovirus causes diarrhea and smelly poo. roxyfoxy 01-25-2006, 03:57 PM He has a bit of a cold but he's been eating normally and no fever. ITs not as wet today but it still stinks! |
