I have pitted fingernails and thick hard to cut toenails. Anyone know why or what to do to get rid of?

If the nail plate is pitted with tiny pin-dot size depressions, it is characteristic of Nail Psoriasis. I would see your physician for a proper diagniosis because nail psoriasis can spread to all of your nails including your toenails.

Thanks Marti - I already have been to MD and she pointed me in the direction of a Chiropodist for help with the matter. What can be done for nail psoriasis?

Not much really - just keep the nails moisturized with a good wuality nail and cuticle oil such as Solar Oil or Botanical Oil. Solar Oil is available in fine nail salons and through Ulta cosmetic outlets nationwide. Botanical Oil is available in the nail department of Sally Beauty Supply. Apply at least twice daily and massage into the nails and cuticles.

Will this ever go away? I will moisturize as you suggest. I will also see the chiropodist re: toenails. Thank you, Kathy

Once you develop Nail Psoriasis, it will never go away.
