I am finishing my 7th cycle of Folfox this afternoon, and a few times during chemo I have noticed that my body is clinging to every bit of water, at first I attributed it to dehydration, but the past two cylces I have taken an extra week off to help my body, and during that extra week I've noticed a definite decrease in urine output, and its very concentrated, And when I say decrease I drink 2 Liters of water a day, and I was going to the bathroom maybe once or twice in 12 hrs.

I've also gained a pound a week over the last 5 weeks and am having mild swelling in my ankles and hands. I've read taht Oxaliplatin can cause kidney function to decrease (esp if you had previous kidney disfunction which I didn't).

But my oncologist says that my kidney function is fine and the levels are fine, and HMM I just don't know whats causing your body to hold onto the fluid. Any insights or suggestions? Thanks

I just had my 17th and I am peeing all the time and have been since the 1st dose. My kidneys are fine and all I get is nausea and fatigue, which get worse with each treatment.
