View Full Version : Can someone explain radiculopathy,myopathy and neuropathy

I thought I had an understanding of what each meant,My understanding of radiculopathy is inflamation of the nerve endings out side the spinal canal.The other 2 have have no clue.

Radiculopathy: Irritation of the nerve root. Where nerve root exits the spinal cord. Easier to understand where the nerve branches (TREE BRANCHES) off the spinal cord (TREE TRUNK) . Can cause pain down arms or legs all the way down to the nerve end.

Myopathy:a myopathy is a neuromuscular disease in which the muscle fibers dysfunction for any one of many reasons, resulting in muscular weakness

I think you really mean:
Myelopathy = myelopathy is a form of spinal cord injury , like compression or distortion of the cord. can cause dyfunction like gait disturbances, dropping things, numbness, etc.

Neuropathy is a disease of the peripheral nervous system. Neuropathic pain is usually perceived as a steady burning and/or "pins and needles" and/or "electric shock" sensations
