Hi!

Has anyone ever heard of a person having a perfectly normal lymph node that you can just happen to feel externally and have it indefinitely be that way?

In the spring of '04 I was scratching my neck and felt a small lump - I immeidately panicked, had it checked by 2 different drs., had an ultrasound, and was told it was perfectly normal, just enlarged - it's about the size of a pea, and can move easily back and forth when felt - (I've also had blood work done since then that's come back normal).

Here, almost 2 years later, I can still feel it - same size - I was just wondering if anyone out there has had this scenario. thanks!

yep, I have this very same thing. Two nodes on either side of my neck, above my collarbone. Mine are also about the size of a pea and can also move back and forth, up and down easily. I first noticed them probably 3-4 years ago and totally freaked out....thinking the worst. Two doc's looked at them, and both were not at all concerned. I've also had a blood test come back perfect Just said that I've probably had them for my whole life and didn't notice them until later. Just one of those annoying things, but is normal for certain people.

Wow this sounds just like me exactly. I notice a small lump above my left collarbone and was in a total panic. My Dr didn't seem all too concerned either. He is sending me for a Xray to be on the safe side ... But he said they have probably always been there.

I had the exact same thing. Doctors said since i had them for so long, they were benign. All bloodwork always came back fine. Then during a mammogram last summer, enlarged lymph nodes under my arms were discovered. Turns out I've had a low grade form of lymphoma for about 20 years and have been undergoing treatment. I never had a symptom of it ever, in all those years. Now the doctor who kept telling me it was nothing, is very uncomfortable around me. Needless to say, I should have insisted on a biopsy 10 years ago when I questioned it first....several times.
