To all my buddies on this board who offer constant support, I spoke with the rep from the bone stimulator company today. They are expecting authorization early next week and I should be recasted on Thursday 2/2. He said the good doctor wants to put in two ports one on top and one on the bottom of my arch (that sort of area). I will use the bone stimulator once a day for 20 minutes in each port. I will be checked at four weeks. Until today, I thought that would be it....BUT...I asked him how many people finish in 4 weeks and he said NONE!!! He said a few at 8 weeks but count on 10-12 weeks NWB.....I am not very happy tonight....I know...woe is me...any support would be graciously appreciated!!! Wow... that's tough news. I'm glad you got your wheelchair back. Maybe since you are getting started earlier after surgery, you will have better luck with healing time. I really feel bad for you. I know that I was going nuts by 3-4 weeks after surgery, just wanting to get out of the cast and start walking. I can't imagine how hard this must be for you. Just try to hang in there. You'll get there eventually.

GET BETTER SOON!! I know how hard it is to hear that kind of news, but at least you have the stimulator now. The wheel chair is going to help wonders. I know that I could not do it without mine. I have a chair at home and a chair at work. The one at work is nice. It is a Kuchall, pneumatic spoke wheels. I am faster than most of the walking people at work in that chair.

Wtwct, I don't have the bone stimulator yet. Should be approved by next week. Do you drive? The hardest part for me is being stuck in the house and not able to drive. I live too far away from a bus but I guess that would be difficult with a wheelchair anyway (although I know some people do it). I never thought I'd be so glad to see this wheelchair back. My upper leg (the one with the cast at the bottom) is very sore...like the muscle is trying to relax but can't. Have you ever had that? Good luck today...sorry about the no coffee!! Sophie

Hey, Good morning, Everyone! Well, I got the news yesterday that I have been denied the bone stimulator at this point. Will have to reapply at the end of February. Sophie
