We'll things are going here.Trent started his OT the 13th and he loves it I have never seen him so happy to be somewhere. After or nightmare Eval. at UVA Psych.I faxed the Dr a 3 page fax letting him know what I thought of his report. He wrote all kinds of stuff that was never said or in any records (like Trent broke his leg because he was over immunized,I was suposed to have said that lol)That they tried to assess Trent but he would not let them ( they never spoke to him ,other than one of them did say HI) Well guess what he called me yesterday and he is gonna re-write his report..He said it was all misworded (yeah, I would say). I lied in my fax to him but only one little lie.. I told him I always record my visits when there is a eval(which probaly is a good idea) so I could listen again to see if I may have forgot something important. And that I was going to call the head of his Dept. and even the medical board if I had to . Because he never asked me anything at all other than ,do we have any weapons? No Does Trent start fires? No ,and that was the 2 questions he asked about Trent so I was furious when he wrote the eval and acted as if he knew my son. But that little lie got me what I wanted him to write a correct report on my son. One that did'nt make me look like a idiot. His ped finally dx'd him last Monday with Autism/Aspergers,ADHD, and ODD with SID. We tried him on the Adderall instead of the ritilan and that was a mistake. We started him on it last Friday morn. and from then til Tuesday he only ate 1/2 piece of pizza,1/2 bowl cereal, 25 cent bag of chips, very little to drink also..this is a child that loves mac and cheese his favorite thing is cheese and ice cream and he would not even do those. The final straw was when the nurse called Monday afternoon and said Trent had not ate at school and had only drank 1/2 of his milk and he had been chewing on his fingers all day to the point they were bleeding. So off the adderall he came.i am gonna try him on the reseridone I am scared but I have to try something else.I called the school to have his dx changed on his Iep and they wanted to know what I thought the change of dx would help. I am hoping they will maybe understand instead of punish for him not wanting to eat in cafateria. Understand that if he stands on side of pot to pee instead of front at least he is trying to potty. He has lost another behavior specialist at school the beggining of the year this makes 4 he has had. The last one walked out the middle of the day and said he could not handle Trent and all Trent was doing was not wanting to sit down.Trent never had a full meltdown with that one I guess he would have sat next to Trent kicking ,screaming and crying with him... LOL. Once again sorry these are always so long when I write I always read the board everyday I just don't always get to respond as often as I would like..... have a good evening :) Jenna

Well done,
Geezersmom always talks about hitting the professionals with a velvet hammer. I think telling him you recorded the visit was like hitting him with an iron cast sledge hammer. good for you, you are now one step closer to getting the help Trent deserves.
The school sound a right bunch! I think they might need that hammer again, but you have to stay on their good side you might need geezermoms velvet hammer to sort them out. I am so shocked at them asking you what difference the dx makes. Tell them it might help for them to go and do a little research and work out from there what therepies, policies and procedures they are now going to follow when dealing with Trent. It's enough to make you scream.
But well done, keep posting I would love to hear your next trick. I am keeping them all up my sleeve, should I ever need them for my son.

Ooooh, how I love sneaky moms! Nice going on the "I always record these things, doc". Glad that the IEP is right around the corner...after you've sweetly and charmingly intimidated them, ya need to think about part two of the hammer. Bernadette and I frighten these people horribly, then bake for them the following week. She's even had the tyrannical director of Anthony's school run over and kiss her afterwards. KISS her! Now that's some charm!

Go get some cheap tiger lily bulbs or something to hand out for Valentine's Day. Wrap the suckers in pink tissue paper and strap on little "with hugs and kisses from Trent" tags made out of construction paper cut into heart shapes. You will rock their world.

Give them a whack, then a pillow, whack, then a pillow. Go Jenna! Keep us posted!

;) Your learnin' quick! Good job getting the Dr to re-write the eval, he sounds like a loon! I have learned you gotta go to bat hard for your kids or you will get walked over.

Good, get the DX on teh IEP changed. THat will make a big difference. Have another IEP meeting ASAP and see what they are going to do. They will probably have to add services, so make sure its sooner then later. Good luck!
