My 20 year old daughter was just diagosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I have never heard of this before. Her ovaries are not functioning normal causing very irregular periods, mood swings, sleep apnea, acne and fatigue. I was just relieved to find an answer to all of this weird and non connecting symptoms. But after listening to my doctor and researching on the internet these symptoms are all related. Does anyone else out there have this or know of anyone who does? WE have an appointment with an endocrinologist later this month and will get more info then. Thanks, Cindy

Yes I have it too,

I have had it my whole life, my case is pretty severe, I am 30 now.

I am on metformin (glucaphage) to help regulate the hormones, insulin resistance is one of the big problems with pcos.

My little sister age 16 is going through it now too, she has severe headaches, and never feels good.

I am sorry your daughter has it, but its good to get the diagnois, and work on it now. I went to many doctors over the years and it was not until 2000 a doctor finally had the answer for me.

Best of luck.

my daughter was diagnosed with PCOS when she was 17.An endocrinologist will be able to help you alot. My daughter is on birth control pills right now and seems to be doing okay. There is also a PCOS health board that could help you with your questions.

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 19. I'm almost 21 now and I'm still not right. I see an endo every 2 months and I am on Prednisone, Spironolactone and was put on Metformin yesterday. I have a slight problem with the insulin resistance and the Metformin is supposed to help you loose weight! I also have Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia, I'm really messed up.
