I've only gotten my period twice since ds has been born, but both times, it not only hurt and was heavy, but the outside parts hurt too. It's mainly a swollen throbbing pain, that is worse when I'm on my feet a lot. Is this normal, has anyone had this? I hope that my uterus isn't coming out! Sorry, TMI.

Dont take this the wrong way, but your lucky you had your period!! my son turned 3 months on the 28th and I still havent had it yet, and im NOT breast feeding, never was. I took a test and thank got it was (-) but Im still waiting for it
This is my 4th so what I can tell you is that since I had kids its gotten VERY bad. Before I had CJ I was going thru a super plus tampon every 30min the 1st 2 days!!

mine is worse than that. I can't even leave the house or hardly be two steps away from a bathroom at all times for nearly the entire period. I discovered those instead cups which is still horrible but no tampon handle mine, not even super plus. I need to get surgery or something. But I stop and start nearly everyday so I have no idea when I am not going to be having mine, to get an appt. Soon I hope! it was bad enough prepregnancy.

Mine is the same way. Terrible throbbing down there, especially when I stand. It is also very heavy and I get the worst cramps. I just use a super tampon and change it often. I use a thin pad at the sametime just in case, and take lots of Advil. It's an aniti-inflamitory and really works for the swelling feeling and cramps. I was thinking about getting on the pill again becasue I am so miserable for the week. Back in the pill days I would have no cramps and a period that would last for a 1/2 a day.
Some of my mom friends have the throbbing swelling feeling also.

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that I tore so bad, and the stuff going on naturally down there is making it hurt......who knows, I'm just glad to know I'm not the only one.

hmm I tore really bad too. The stitches were horrible and I was in agony for awhile after I had him but finally that all stopped.
Have you tried the numbing medicated spray like they give you at the hospital? You can buy it at the store. It helped me after I had him so I figure it would help at least numb you.
