I've been on effexor for 5 months now and i loss my libido! I was wondering if Wellbutrin really works to counteract the loss of libido? and does Wellbutrin affect your memory and weight? like will i become fater if i'm taking two A'D.

Apparently, wellbutrin is not supposed to effect your libido like other ADs ...apparently....most ADs cause weight gain. but i have heard that wellbutrin is pretty good for not causing as much weight gain. ADs effect everyone diffently, so it may cause significant weight gain in some, and none in others....just like may cause loss of libido in some and not in others. it depends on the genetic makeup.

I take 300mg Wellbutrin XL per day and I have no loss
of libido. To bad I'm alone :(

Recently diagnosed, and doctor first put me on gradually ramped up doses of Effexor XR, then added Wellbutrin XL to the mix (150 mg), then phased out the Effexor (currently going through major withdrawal - sucks BIG). My libido was circling the drain before starting treatment of any sort, but I noticed the Effexor definitely desensitized me, both psychologically and physically. I've switched over to Wellbutrin SR (150 mg x2), but I haven't noticed any amped up libido as I've heard others report. Desensitization has gone away though. Personally, I think the best cocktail
I've worked with so far is Effexor XR (37.5 mg), Wellbutrin XL (150 mg - though I will ask at next appt. to ramp up the dosage), and Viagra (25 mg - just to get over performance anxiety). Hope this helps, and good luck.
