Hello

Has anyone used benzos to help with OCD along with their SSRI meds? If so did you find it helped you forget your ocd when you need to relax and such as at a movie or social event?

Givemeadvice,

My son used Ativan, Boy did it EVER help him in the cases you mentioned. It would make the difference sometimes on whether he would even get out of the car to go in somewhere.
I mean, it REALLY helped alot. One time we went on a dinner cruise and he nearly ruined it for everyone. He took one Ativan and bingo, it was just like there was never a problem to begin with. And they work really fast too! :)

Ativan, 0.5 mg, wasn't strong enough for me. I usually take Klonopin, 0.125 mg, daily, but I have 0.5 mg for REALLY bad days. I can't take it every day, though, because it makes me incredibly tired... But, the 0.125 Klonopin works within 15 minutes, but I still get panic attacks later in the day. Like, I didn't take it today, and I've had a panic attack for about five hours, but even if I would've taken it, the panic attack would've come back anyway. I wouldn't say it helps with my OCD directly, though, just my panic attacks.
