Just wondering. If anybody who had terrible OCD was eventually able to lower there SSRI and still function ok.
What meds and dose.
Too much meds and no sexual function and too little meds and full blowen OCD. Life is very hard and difficult.

I think the lowering of meds for OCD has to be done on an individual basis as we are so very different. My son has lowered his Anafranil to the loweest dose one could take--25Mg. before bed and he is doing better than ever. So well in fact that the Psych says he can just "skip it" once in awhile and may actually go totally off it. He has used no Ativan in months now.
I think, the best way to find out is to lower it very slowly and see how you feel. With my son we did not know whether to raise it or lower it because he acted like he needed more WHEREAS he actually needed LESS ! Sometimes TOO MUCH can actually have a reverse affect. So, you may actually find yourself experimenting a little. Good luck ! :)
