Hello, I am Amanda, and I am a total nervous wreck. I am on Beta -blockers. I have Aromatherapy and Refelxology every two weeks and this does help.I am also a dental phobic and have a huge Dental fear as I hate them and feel as though I will collapse and die in the chair as I cant breathe properly. I have a dental abcess at the moment. I live In Godalming, Surrey and I am hoping I will or might be able to find a dentist that is on the NHS who deals with phobias!!I am also not sleeping well and wake up in the night in a panic. Please advise Thank-you Amanda.Harrison

Hi Amanda,
If you phone NHS direct, im sure they will be able to recommend any dentists that deal with phobias in your area.
Im very interested in your experiances with aromatherapy/reflexology, ive had aromatherapy and found it relaxing at the time but i didnt really feel any long term benefits.
My cousin is doing reflexology at college and wants to use me as a case study, so thats my next step.
The beta blockers tend to deal with anxiety symptoms like palpitations etc, but arent really a anti-anxiety med, maybe you could speak to your g.p about trying something else, or refering you for some sort of counselling.
Post back if you want to talk.
Linds.
ps, i use a few drops of lavender oil on my pillow at night to help me sleep, ask your therapist about it!

Hello Thank-you for your reply. I do find that although Aromatherapy is not actual cure it does me good. I do somehow prefer rose to lavendar. I have tried counselling but really did not get on with her. My Aromatherapist is also a counseller and is very good and we do talk.Reflexology I do think is also a great idea if you want to be a case study. Regards Amanda Harrison
