View Full Version : Do heel spurs & bunions go hand in hand?

For about the last month I've been wondering if I've developed a heel spur? It feels like there's a small marble in my heel when I step down... when I'm barefoot. It isn't "painful" but it is uncomfortable. I already have a bunion (that's needs surgery) on the same foot (left) as well. Do the two generally go hand in hand?

My husband talked to a women who just had surgery for a spur and she said that the two problems often come together.

I had a consult w/a podiatrist last summer and know that I need surgery for the bunions (screws, etc.) I am just SCARED to death!! I have 3 children ages 11, 8 & 3 and I own a dance studio. I can't imagine dealing w/the recovery all summer long. The podiatrist said to plan for a good 3 months of recovery (at least he's honest.) I guess I need to go back and see him and figure out if I have a heel spur??

Thank you.
