I can't comment on the Herbal Essences because I've never used them. However, IMO, Garnier Fructis is garbage. I had hair loss from using it and so did my sister-in-law. We used the one for color-treated hair, but I've heard bad stuff about the other ones in that line, too. I used Frizz Ease a long time ago (the serum, I think). I didn't like it. It seemed too sticky like hairspray.

digmusic, I use the Clairol Herbal Essence shampoo.
I'v not used the Conditioner.
Get the Herbal Essence for Dry and Damaged hair.
Its much better then the Herbal Essence for normal hair.
The Dry and Damaged one has more moisture in it.
This shampoo is great.
It makes my hair very soft and silky.
