I thought I read somewhere that you could not mix zoloft and valium. The artical said you could take xanax with zoloft.I wonder what is the difference between valium and xanax???Does anyone take valium and zoloft?
Thank you ,sunshine5050

I took valium and zoloft together at one time and I was very suicidal. It did not work at all well for me, I was at my wits end. I ended up going to the er and giving the dr the valium and saying 'I don't care what you do with those, just get them away from me'

So she took me off the zoloft and the valium and put me back on Paxil with xanax. I recently switched to taking zoloft, but I was afraid because of how it made me feel before, but this time, it was amazing.. I felt great! I take xanax along with it, and don't feel at all like I did when I was taking zoloft and valium.

Hope this helped!

I feel you have been misled.
Any drug in the SSRI can be helpful, while taking benzodiazepines, for anxiety/depression...
I have been taking Lexapro with Xanax for years and years, with no problems...
Unfortunately, some people taking these drugs are also prone to severe depression/suicide, so the drug is listed as the cause...
You just need to find what mix is good for you and if you get any strange feelings on them, let your doctor know and they will switch you. I had scary feelings on Cymbalta and Paxil and I just asked to be taken off b/c they made me feel weird...Finally, I got to a mix that helped.
Don't live with depression/anxiety b/c of fear of medication...
Sorry, whoever posted the message of a personal experience, I just wanted to shed some light on this subject...

I was not trying to mislead the poster, just the experience that I had with it.

And I think that SSRIs are wonderful, for the record, they gave me my life back. I just had a bad experience with Lexapro and Valium. Everyone will have their own response to SSRIs.

As my dr put it, one person can wear a wool sweater all day and not feel bothered by it, while another can have it on for five minutes and can't stand the itching of it. Just different bodies and tolerances to stuff.

You are right. I had the same experiences (bad ones) with some drugs of the same class, while they helped other people so much..
I am the same way....I never suggest the ones that I had a bad experience, but who knows, it may help someone...
