I just ordered a bottle of benfotiamine to try.Im running out of fixers which thry are not.But i received me pains from chemo and or radiolgy or both.Have been trying to live with it since 2002 Tha veterans hospital can't seem to touch the pain.Ive had nerve blocks done and different antidepresants given to me to no avail.Heres a list that i can remember.Tramadol/Paxil/Effexor/Wellbutrin/Neurontin.Before 30 days of taking these i would have some real bad side effects.Hoping to find something for relief someday soon.

Jagee,

I'm not usually on this board. I would suggest the post this question on the pain management board.

I sympathize with you. I had to take over 40 medications before I got some relief. At this time I take OxyContin 40 mg three times a day. I have been doing really well in regard to my pain level.

I would recommend talking to shoreline on the pain management board. Take care yourself good luck. Michael :)

Have you tried Insulow (R+ lipoic acid and biotin)? its sold for diabetes and diabetic neuropathy but the research shows that its effective against several forms.

Benfotiamine also has some promising research, be sure to update.

Did they ever give you an actual diagnosis of what is exactly causing your pain?i am assuming there is some level of nerve damage going on but is there anything else?going to a good pain doc would do wonders for you and open up many other options besides just using meds alone in trying to keep some level of actual control over your pain.where exactly is your pain located and just what does it 'feel' like?Marcia
