I'm currently taking 40 mg of prozac a day, I want to wean off because my sex drive sucks and I feel like I can't feel deeply anymore, sort of like an emotional zombie...anyone else experience this? I can't even cry...

If I were to wean off how would I do it? Just one day start taking 20 mg and for how long etc?

Also, should I expect to be more depressed as usual when I first stop taking them? What else should I expect? Sorry for all my questions but I am a bit nervous

I would discuss the tapering process with your doctor first. My doctor got me to start taking fish oil capsules (Omega Joy) first for 2 weeks, then half the dose of Wellbutrin for a week and half again. The withdrawal was much less with the omega 3 as a backup antidepressant. Withdrawal consists of extreme anxiety and agitation which I experienced trying to taper off of meds without fish oil the year before, so it was much easier this time. I quit Wellbutrin in April and take Omega Joy by Genuine Health. They have formulated a fish oil capsule containing 500mg of EPA. Two a day is the dose for depression, supported by clinical studies using 1000mg of pure EPA. This company is the only one in North America that makes the correct dosage for depression. They enteric coat their capsules to prevent burping or odour, and remove all toxins and are mercury free. Wheat grass juice capsules also help my mood and energy levels.
