Hi,

I am on my 2nd pack of Seasonale. Last pack, about a week into the 3rd month, I started to spot and did so until I actaully started. I figured it was because it was my first time using this brand and type of bc. Now it is the 1st week of my 3rd month on this pack and I didn't start spotting, but actaully bleeding, bad cramps and serious bloating. I was wondering if anyone else has used this pill and had the same experience. I just don't know if I should switch or keep trying. I definitely like not having a period except every 3 months, but I don't want it to last almost a month when it comes. I just don't know how long to wait to see if my body gets adjusted. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Belle

hi southern_belle,

As you can see from my recent post, "time to change pills?", I have also had bad experiences with Seasonale. The problem for me, however, was the fact that I have been on it for two years and only just now began experiencing the same symptoms that you are having as well.

I'm not sure what to tell you -- I used to be a major advocate for Seasonale, but after experiencing this constant spotting, I am starting to wonder if the constant stream of low estrogen has made it ineffective (against bleeding/spotting -- not against pregnancy).

I would say stick with it, as from what I understand, Seasonale takes one full year to regulate and fall into a pattern. However, if beyond that you continue to have problems, by all means switch!!! It's not worth the daily frustrations (as I am starting to learn).

Good luck -
