i was considering getting on the "pill" after i have my baby but some one told me that you can't be over 200 lbs! just wondering if this is true and if anyone knows about the weight standards for the "pills".... i considered the depo shot but every one keeps saying not to do it b/c of the side effects!
thanks

Hi,
You can go on the pill with that weight it just isn't suggested because the pill can increase your blood pressure. I would suggest not to go near Depo. If you have side effects with it you will have to wait it out and that can be longer than the 3 months. What i might suggest for Birth control is maybe a IUD. I have the paragard one and it's great.Good luck

There are studies that indicate that the pill may be slightly less effective in women weighing over 150 pounds. This doesn't mean that the pill is completely ineffective-- just that the pill MAY not be 99.9% effective. And, this is just a theory
Discuss your concerns with your doctor. Ask what his/her experience has been with women over 150 pounds using the pill.
