Hi,
Today I went for my consultation and was told that because my pupils are extremely large and my cornea is thin, I can't have Lasik. Instead I would have to opt for PRK.
I'm pretty unfamiliar with this type of eye surgery. I had all my hopes in getting Lasik and now I have to learn more about this PRK.
Anyway, has anyone had it done. I'm worried about the longer recovery. And are the results good? Or will I have blurry vision?
Thanks.

Hello sungirlcali,
I have my story posted about 6 postings below yours. I have had PRK, about 3 1/2 weeks ago and as far as I am concerned, it has and still is, the worst surgical and recovery experience I have ever had and I would honestly, not recommend it to my worst enemy. VERY PAINFUL!!! and my vision out of my left eye sucks. I can read the top two lines of the eye chart, and that's it!!! My right eye is great, but it had less correction made to it. Before surgery, 20/40 in my right and 20/100 in my left. They just keep telling me the eyes heal at different rates. I'm having a really hard time with that and the whole thing. As of today, 1-31-06, I sooo regret ever doing it and wish I could just go back to contacts.
Read my story. Think hard about doing it. My biggest fear is that he is going to have to do the left eye again, and I'm not up for 4 days of that pain again.
Sorry to be the voice of gloom, but I only speak from my experience.

Hi Elyse S.,
What happened with your PRK eye? Did it improve over the months?
