I'm not sure what you're asking...you can go to your physician who will write a prescription for the basic HIV blood work and an STD panel. Or, you can go to the local Health Department and request the same thing. Depending upon what you're looking for will determine whether they take blood (HIV or syphilis), gonorrhea (culture the discharge), etc. Does this help? chris

If you mean what do they actually do to test... for hiv they either draw blood or do the finger ***** thing. I had the finger ***** thing done last time I was tested and had the results in less than half an hour.
For other stds, they can use blood or urine to check and they also do a swab in the penis (which I can tell you isnt a fun experience).
