Sorry if this has already been a topic....but I'm so sore! Me and the hubby joined a gym (YEAH!) and we have gone and worked out the last 2 nights. We are both pretty sore, so I'm wondering if we should continue to work out, maybe do a lighter routine or should we give our muscles a chance to recouperate? I've heard that potassium is good for sore muscles, is that true and how much should you take?
Thanks Guys!

I Would rest for a day or 2 and let your muscles recover. Then when you start back Take it a bit easier and gradually Increase things.......It wont always be sore.

Well pooh, I was looking forward to going again tonight. But I don't know how much I would be able to do with my legs aching like they are. Maybe we will just go and sit in the sauna and relax.

If I'm a bit sore after a workout, I usually do something light the next day, like walking on the treadmill (because it's usually my legs that are sore) or even stretching will help as well.
I do agree though, you'll get less sore the more your body gets used to the excercises.

You can still Exercise...Just try doing something that uses different muscles. Without proper rest your Muscles will not grow.

Well we decided to go again tonight. Kept the workout very light and simple. We were only there for maybe 40 mins. I guess I will see how all my muscles are feeling tomorrow.

You ussually shouldn't do resistance training on the same muscles more than once every two days.

The main muscles that really were hurting yesterday were my inner thighs, they are feeling much better today and even last night after the work out. We road the bikes for about 20 mins (w/o resistance) and then did some crunches on the ab machines, then we sat in the sauna for a few mins. I'm going to yoga tonight, hopefully the stretching will help any of the other sore muscles feel better too. But I'm glad that we decided to og last night.
