Live-Life-to-Love 02-01-2006, 11:07 PM What is the best wrinkle/night cream you use? Live-Life-to-Love 02-03-2006, 01:10 PM 25 view's and no one uses night cream that they like? littlejmb 02-03-2006, 03:18 PM I have used several different kinds but none of them work! Ccarrie76 02-04-2006, 12:34 AM Me too !!!! I have used alot of different brands. I have not noticed  anything! littlejmb 02-04-2006, 12:57 PM I'm beginning to think all these companies are making a mint for things that don't help one little bit, and are falsely advertising to reel us in. I wish someone would find something that really worked (besides surgery!) Gatormom 02-04-2006, 01:03 PM Can we say brand names?? I love my night cream that sounds like a bullfighter saying "Ole!" littlejmb 02-04-2006, 01:16 PM I do believe you can say name brands, just not websites or anything like that. Is it Oil of Olay? Does it make your face greasy? Gatormom 02-04-2006, 03:19 PM Yes that's it :) - - and their products aren't greasy at all. I think the word Oil in their name is misleading! I love their night cream called Regenerist Night. littlejmb 02-04-2006, 03:44 PM I have been using Nivea Q10 Advanced Wrinkle reducer for about a year and I do like it because it doesn't make my face greasy or break out. But - I can't tell that it has lessened my winkles any  Live-Life-to-Love 02-05-2006, 12:38 AM I've been using Nivea Q10 for 3 years now. I loved it. My face would just drink it up. And I would see my face being smoother in the AM after using it. Even the wrinkles around my eyes looked less - only when I consistantly used it, if I skipped a day or two I would see them creaping back in. Well, twice last week my face started to burn when I used it. I may be getting allergic to the stuff! I was a faithful Clinque user for many years and I think I just may go back to them. Their items are allergy proof and I am sure they have a good intesive night cream. Thanks for the posts ladies! HeyKD 02-06-2006, 01:01 PM I have found success more in a routine rather than a cream. I use Retin A 3 to 4 times a week, Vit. C 3 times a week, and a european sunscreen even on cloudy days or when I stay inside. I am always looking for a good moisurizer though and haven't been able to find one that suits my oily skin. Until recently. I'm making my own through a do-it-yourself website where I can buy all the ingredients I want in a light weight cream with all the antioxidents I want and without all the fillers I don't want and at a fraction of the cost of what it would be over the counter. I thought for example, I would find a good cream in Revive but it contained inadaquate and inferior sunscreen ingredients, alcohol and fillers I didn't want. I can copy that product if I make it myself. sspencervip 02-10-2006, 07:11 PM I love using Mary K products. The timewise cleanser and moisterizer are great and I get alot of compliments on my skin. I just turned 34 and I know I have to use these products. I stopped using cleanser for 3 weeks because I ran out and I felt my skin dry and stressed. I will continue using Mary K probably for the rest of my life. Those of you who are 34+ do you notice changes in your skin now that you are somewhat older now? BchGrl 02-13-2006, 01:58 PM Not necessarily the best for wrinkles but the best and cheapest lotion i use for my face is the trial size ones you get in hotel bathrooms. Because they are cheap, they are not very creamy, but very lightweight. They treat your dry skin and hide wrinkles a little and when you put your make-up over it, it doesn't look streaky or feel greasy at all!!! I love these lotions for my face. Doesn't break my skin out either and everything does! Sylvia224 02-13-2006, 04:19 PM I like the consistency of the RoC - Deep Wrinkle Treatment and daily moisturizer with SPF and I THINK it has reduced my wrinkles a little? It's hard to tell, but it is a very nice product and I'm sure at the very least, the moisturizer is preventing further damage if not repairing existing wrinkles. 1nature32 02-15-2006, 09:04 PM microdermx I think is the best. It helped my eye wrinkles so that there is hardly any. It's more expensive than the epidermx, but it contains more expensive ingredients such as dmae and alpha lipoic acid which have helped to firm my skin. The step one sands them away and the step two replenishes the skin and helps firm. I saw a difference in 4 weeks. akazie 02-18-2006, 05:48 AM Emu oil. Don't waste your money on the expensive anti-wrinkle creams. cookiepls 02-18-2006, 11:03 AM I'm with you HeyKD, I'm planning on going the DIY route myself. I've been using Alpha Hydroxy 10% lotion since my 30's and occasional DIY glycolic acid peels. I'm 48 now. The only wrinkles I have are around my eyes. I believe they're from pulling at the skin when I used to wear contacts. I have no other wrinkles. I want to try the vitamin C cerum but stabilized vitamin C preparations are expensive. I'm going to go the DIY route with that. I've learned a lot about the ingredients that go into these expensive lotions-especially how small the concentration of active ingredients are in them. And even when the concentration is good, they end up using too much of the buffering agents which renders the product almost useless. Most of the ingredients are inexpensive and can be purchased in bulk. We're paying far too much otherwise. Fabat40 02-22-2006, 02:34 AM What is the best wrinkle/night cream you use? I am currently using Carita. Another one I'd tried is Amorepacific which worked pretty well for me too. HeyKD 02-24-2006, 04:52 PM I'm with you HeyKD, I'm planning on going the DIY route myself. I just got through mixing a batch of my own cream this past weekend with the ingredients I've had for almost a month. I finally got off my butt and got busy. Whats cool is that my normally oily face has now evened out and I haven't had to use my usual 5 blotter sheets a day. But at the same time my face isn't dry. I don't have my list with me what what I put together was epidermal growth factor (the stuff in ReVive face care), DMAE, Idebenone, Anti-ox booster, SOD and some other stuff. I spent about $90 bucks for everything and I still have 2 oz. of cream and lots of product left to make more. You're right, cosmetic companies like Perricone and Revive really soak us! dazedandconfused10 02-24-2006, 10:21 PM how do you get stuff to make your own??? HeyKD 02-28-2006, 04:16 PM how do you get stuff to make your own??? You can google skin actives, or something like dyi skin care. There are a couple of good ones out there. Good luck! TracyS42 03-17-2006, 02:02 AM The best range I've used is Ella Bache...but I dont know if you have that in USA. Creme Tomate is the best for me (but different skins need different things). I first came across the brand when I was 25 and have used it off and on over the years. I do notice a huge negative difference when I stopped using it and went for Nivea or Olay for a while. I'm 44 and have no lines on my face...though the forehead does wrinkle a bit more now when I DONT use the product......so you might want to give it a try? dazedandconfused10 03-17-2006, 09:44 AM never heard of it, off to do a web search! Green Eyed Granny 03-23-2006, 02:05 PM True, my mom used creams and lotions, and never got a suntan in her life. It didn't help her. Nothing does any good, when it's your time to get old looking.I really see the difference in my looks in the last six years. I'm 64 desertdweller 03-24-2006, 04:29 PM Well, genetics does play some role in how your skin looks with age, but how you have treated your skin in your youth makes a big difference also. Smoking and sun are the biggest offenders. Continually pulling and rubbing at the skin, using drying soaps, and harsh environment ( wind, extreme cold) can also play a big part. After getting my cosmetologist license at age 19 and learning about skin, I have always been delicate with my skin. If you cannot afford a good skin wash, look for a mild soap with a Ph close to your skin Ph of 4.5 to 5.5( like Dove). In my 30's, I started using only professional products that an esthetican recommended. The importance is using the product that works for your type of skin. What may work for one person, may not work for you. I have found plenty of products that work, Dermalogica, MD Formulations, Pharmagel, etc. Also, with age hormones can change and cause skin to look old. Make sure you hormone levels are where they should be. It sound simple, but it can also make a big difference if you do not drink enough water! I am 41 now, with no wrinkles unless I smile. My husband is 28, no one notices that we are so far apart in age. My hands give it away from washing hair and perm solution for so many years. cookiepls 03-24-2006, 05:06 PM desertdweler, you're so right. There's a lot more involved in skin aging than just our age. I'm 48 and my husband (our 15th anniversary today!) is 35. There's a large age difference but no one knows it. I do wish I hadn't been so rough on the skin under my eyes when I was in my twenties. I wore contact lenses and I pulled on the skin too much when I put them in or took them out. That gave me some little lines there. They're minor but I think I would have a face full of wrinkles and sagging had I not avoided the things I knew to be damaging. I know genetics played a role too. Plus the AHA did, and still does wonders in keeping it wrinkle free and supple. Like you, my age shows in my hands, which tells me what my face could've looked like too. TurtleBlue 03-24-2006, 07:54 PM YES! AHA is great! If you use that, then moisturize with Jean's Cream (it's actually made to protect people's skin who are going through radiation treatment for cancer - super soothing and protective to the skin). The combination of the AHA with the protective moisturizer totally rejuvenates my skin and makes it look supple. The AHA & moisturizer combo work great for me and are much cheaper than a lot of fancy beauty treatments. BlessingsGalore 03-25-2006, 11:02 AM Good ole VASELINE. Can't beat it. I wear it daytime for an under makeup moisturiser. I have extremely dry skin. I put a little around the outside of my eyes at night but after cleansing my skin at night with a gentle cleanser for dry skin, I don't use anything. I let my skin breathe and rest from any products. When I put the vaseline on in the morning before makeup, I put on a light layer, then splash cold water on my face and then blot to get any excess off. This leaves a very light moisture on my face and it's working all day to keep my winkles at bay and my skin healing and moisturized. I use it on my feet under my socks for a great foot treatment, that keeps them from peeling and drying. Even my hubby is doing this now. Doris Day use to lather her whole body up with vaseline once a week and put on jammies and gloves and socks and sleep in it. LOOK HOW GREAT SHE LOOKED. CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP.....................it's a dozen products in ONE and works so well ! I'm 57 and people in my 50's groups always try to run me off saying I cannot be 50 years old. They think I'm about 45.........which is the year, by the way, I looked my absolute BEST ! Oh, to go there again ! andrepp 03-29-2006, 12:42 AM AlphaDerma CE is by far the best wrinkle cream I have used. I am 46 but look 30 - 32. :D BlessingsGalore 03-29-2006, 06:47 PM OOPS..................sooooooooooooooooo o sorry ...my fault. Will do better in the future ! ;) chewbug 03-30-2006, 02:25 PM I am 65 years old and I,m told I look 50. I have used Vaseline for ages at night and Oil of Olay during the day. :D Luxurylady 04-24-2006, 11:15 AM Hey guys, I had a talk with some friends over the weekend at a dinner party and discussed what night creams we were using to look our best. We all had something to share, so I compiled a list of the best skincare products, you know the crème de la crème( Pun intended, I bet you think I’m really corny now but hey, you only live once!) So here goes, in no particular order. If you’re low on funds or have an itch credit card hand look away now because these are some of the most expensive products you can buy. 1 ReVive Intensite 2 Eraye anti-aging creams 3 Cle de Peau beate la crème 4 Darphin Replenishing anti wrinkle creams 5 Orlane Hydro therapy cream Any one of these really do an excellent job. Good luck hope it helps. Diane4000 05-04-2006, 04:41 PM As many of the people in this thread have pointed out, sun damage is a real problem and sun screen - or a hat - is a "must". That said, I have been happy with Rejuvenight for over night, and Rejuvenex for daytime - Life Extension products. For one thing, I don't have to use much of it, so a jar lasts a long time. But both formulas are enhanced with vitamins, which I think might be why I got such good results. Good Luck!! |
