For being 6 foot, 155-160lbs sounds about right...maybe even a little bit too skinny? Granted, I'm a guy, but I'm 6'2" and weigh about 196lbs. But even at this weight, I still look a bit lanky. Maybe it is because I have very little fat on my body, but I reason I will have to gain an addition 20lbs of muscle if I am going to start looking muscular.

Hi, how old are you? Age and the amount of physical excercise is also important. However, from what I've read on various websites. You are perfectly fine at your current weight. :-)

im 17 almost 18 and i work out everyday i may miss a day every once in a while but its not often. i DO have alot of muscle and have been playing sports since i was 4. but even though i am tall- the weight still seems really high and it bugs me. and yes you may think 'well she is a teenager' but i dont have a teenager mindset with this. i want to be fit.

Just from personal experience, I am 5'8" and my lowest weight was 136 and I looked sickly. I was tone, but started to look bony, esp. in my face and upper body. I ''let my self go'' so to say and got up to 180 lbs. Went through a divorce and lost 20 lbs in a month. Now I am around 160, and I, like you, hate that number. But I am 4 inches shorter than you. I would like to get down to 140-145 because I think that will be my healthiest. But I have tried to not focus on the scale. For example, I recently started exercising again and when I weighed, only lost 3 pounds. I started to become discouraged until I put on a pair of everyday jeans and thought "wow these feel better". And I do have to say that age has changed my perspective on weight loss/exercising. The older you get, you realize it is not always about the number on the scale, but about how you feel as well as how you look. It's about being healthy and confident. Good Luck and remember to do this for yourself and not anyone else. It's about how you feel and not what other people think. At least that is what I try to remind myself on my quest to be healthier.

Hey, you sound just like my boyfriends sister. She is 6'0 and weighs about the same as you do, a few pounds more. She looks fantastic and makes me jealous and probably most girls, she always lets that high number make her upset... Think about it a little different, the taller you are the higher you need to weigh, you have larger bones and longer muscles and your water weight alone will be more than someone smallers.
It has to be tough to be a teenage girl in this day, I am 26 and I still struggle with wanting to look as good as the girl in the magazine.... which is impossible, those girls are 'fixed' to look "perfect", after the fact, by an artist. If I were you I would focus more on how healthy you are and how good you do look and if you want to make goals about your body make them healthy ones, like gaining lean muscle or building endurance for your athletic side. I think one thing is certain, a girl that is confident with how she looks is beautiful no matter what her size is.

thanks yall- see i want to be able to not care about the numbers but like Jessica said- i think the society i have been growing up in lately has changed that... i didnt mind that i was 150 like 2 years ago, then i gained weight, then developed an eating disorder. but im exercising and toning more and i KNOW that im gaining muscle its just still really difficult to see a higher number especially since i am like 1/2 foot taller than most people! but i guess no one can ever be completely satisfied right?

Don't pay attention to any scale. If you think you look good in the mirror, that's what matters. Although if you have a true eating disorder, then maybe that is not good either...:) But for your height, 160 - 180 is not even close to being fat. Otherwise, how could I be 6' 2", weigh close to 200lbs, and consist of lean muscle?

ya i know i should pay attention to how i feel/what i see in the mirror more than what the scale says- im working on that one : P. even tho you are 6'2 and 200- your a guy so things are different

Just go with what you feel. I have a couple of friends who are tall girls. I have one who is 5'10'' and she weighs in right now I think between 165 and 170. She seems really comfortable at that weight. She said she got down to 150 a couple years ago and felt too thin. She has got a great body, curvy and all. My other friend is 5'11'' and she will not go below 155 at all because she thinks and feels like she looks too sickly. I don't know. They both look great and they weigh about what you do. Listen to yourself, not the stupid number on the scale. You have to remember that you are like 6inches taller than most women, so obviously you are going to have a higher weight. I think tall women are great, incredibly beautiful, and clothes fit so nicely on them. I am a gay man but, if I wasn't gay I would probably be with a tall woman, LOL... Hope this helps.
