When did any of you give your DD or DS something to snuggle with in their cribs? My DD is 7 months and 1 week old and seems to snuggle up to the bumper in her crib (yea I know we are not suppose to have those either),but some people have told me a blanket or stuffed animal are OK. When did any of you allow something in the crib for them to snuggle with? She seems to want something like that.

As soon as my babies could move around I gave them something. That way they can get it off it it gets on their face. DD has been sleeping with a fluffy blanket and a few stuffed animals since 3 months of age. Actually the stuffed animals were in there before 3 months, but they are small. At your daughters age I would not worry about it...give her some snuggly stuff, she's obviously looking for something.

Thank you for letting me know your thoughts. We are going to the DR today for her eye - so I will ask him what his opinion is about that too. (Sure he will say I wouldn't do that?)......

My dd has slept with a muslin since she was a few months old and ya she had teddies in her cot from like day 1 lol oh ya and a bumper! Now she likes to sleep with the muslin right up to her face... she must get that from me cause I always sleep with my blanket next to my face too

My children always had a few toys in their beds from the time they were born. At first, they couldn't move around anyway so the toys just sat in the corners. My daughter got attached to a soft doll when she was about 5 months old--she is now 5 1/2 years old and still carries the doll around with her. My son got attached to fluffy plush rabbit when he was about 5 weeks old and he's never been without him since!

Why aren't you supposed to have bumpers? This is new info to me. Most crib sets come with them.

DS got a blanket when he was almost 4 months old and can't sleep with out it now. He got it and immediately was attached to it. The one whole side of the blanket is silky and he has to have it almost covering his face in order to sleep. Freaked me out in the beginning but I am used to it now, since I know he does just fine. He just has to have his face buried in it and now that he is older he will grab it himself and bury his face in it.
