I started taking 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. of regular cinnamon, stuff right in your spice rack, about 6 months ago. Before the cinnamon and green tea, my TC was 232 and went to 198 and my LDL was 161 and went to 126. I have not been tested since, so really can't say if it was a fluke or not. Naturally I eat oatmeal, watch my diet for bad fats, and also have cut back on my eating of cheese, was a terrible cheese eater. They claim the cinnamon does help and also is suppose to keep your blood glucose stable. As I said, U don't have to pay out big bucks, just any cinnamon U would use out of your spice rack is fine. I get mine at the grocery store and buy the cheapest, usually runs me about 1.29 for a jar of it. Don't use anything that has been laying around a long time, it should be fresh and smell sweet to know it is fresh.

Good luck, and hoped this helped......

1/2 t. every day for 6 months didn't budge my numbers at all but nothing ever has except for statins. Unfortunately, I can't take any of the statins because of horrific muscle pain.

Amost any place that carries vitamins will carry cinnamon capsules . It's only about $5-6 dollars for a months supply . Take 2-3 capsules a day .

I have heard people say they take the capsules, but guess it has to be Cassia cinnamon. Usually the cinnamon in the jars are Cassia also, so for 1.29 a jar, that is a pretty decent buy. I know I bought the CVS brand, and to be honest, it was a bit tangy, so I have been buying the Spice Classic brand at the grocery store, much milder.

Have a good one.....

JJ,

I also just use the cinammon from the spice rack. I don't see the point to paying a lot for it to be in pill-form, when I just usually have it on my oatmeal anyhow...

By the way, did the groundhog see his shadow last week?

I'm so tired of winter weather - just can't wait for spring...

We've had a great winter in upstate NY for a change. It was like spring time here and all the skiers were upset that we didn't get a lot of snow. Today it snowed a little, but it will probably be gone by tomorrow. I hope it is gone in the a.m. !

My girlfriend takes the pills, as she hates the taste of cinnamon. LOL Other then that, I can't see any reason either then to use the cheap stuff. Hey, I'm old and on a fixed income, the less I spend the better...... :D

Hubby loves the cinnamon oatmeal, plus he puts the cinnamon in his cofee. hey, like they say, whatever works...right?

Oh yes, that poor groundhog sees his shadow even when it rains, wish they would leave that poor thing sleep. I really can't complain too much this year, as except for the end of Nov. and the beggining of Dec., it has been fairly mild. We have had alot of rain, but hey, I don't have to shovel rain, but have also had a few days of cracking windows open for a couple of hrs. Just hope old man winter doesn't decide to make us pay during Feb. and March. Like U, sure will be glad to see buds on the trees, and flowers sprouting from the ground, just hope we don't have a humid summer like last year, that sucked!

Geez, are we hard to please or what? LOL I know, U want to get back to that BEACH BUM lifestyle........

Hope ya have a good one, and if your rooting for a certain team in the Super Bowl, hope they win. Football just isn't my thing. TTYL......

Think we are in for a colder week coming up, but like U, haven't really been able to complain too much this year. Hardly much snow, and temps. have been mostly ABOVE normal......YAY!!! Let's hope we don't get socked during Feb. and March. Still can't wait to see buds on the trees, it is so bare outside, but hey, we are getting close.

Take care, and enjoy while we can.....

Lenin,

I don't live to far from Mr. Phil.

I have been threatening to head on over one of these years to watch him. I guess that it is quite a festival.
