I've been taking it for two years now for Fibro. i don't think I could get by without it. It has a mood lifting quality also. The pain killing abilty is average, but for whatever reason, it helps my Fibro more than Morphine Pathes or Vicodin.

Thanks, rstarre. How much do you take -- and did you have problem getting your doc to prescribe it? I've tried Vicodin and PErcocet, and they just make me sick.

Yes...these doctors seem to think Aleve or Tylanol will take of Fibro. They are nuts. I've take 50 mg usually when I need it. Which is usually every day. I get very nasty when the fibro bothers me and Tramadol/Ultram takes that away almost like an anti depressant. Some days I take 2- 50mg. If I am really bad I take 3-50's. I haven't gotten a doctor to give me a script. I accidently found it when I friend of mine gave it to me who had arthritis. I buy mine online now. I can get 180-50mg for 95 dollars. If you take to much, it can contipate you, but in my case, my fibro caused me to have an irritable bowel, so this stuff is great for me. This is not a real strong pain reliver in my opinion, but it sure takes the edge off. For me it works just as well as Vicodin.

Hi SeaTurtle:
I use Ultram occasionally. It is very effective for pain relief, gives me more energy. When I do take a dose, I cut a tablet in half. The half tablet works great.

I take it for a hip condition and it has been very helpful. I had been using Darvocet for 2 years, however Narcotics make me itch. I've always had to decide which was worse, the itching or the pain. I am delighted that I don't itch with Ultram! Wish I'd known about it sooner. :bouncing:

Hope it helps you. :)
