I just finished my last pack of otc lo and I skipped the placebo pills because my bf and I are going out of town next weekend and my period would be inconvenient. My mom suggests that I do one week of the first pills in the new pack, then revert to the placebo pills, and then pick up where I left off in the second pack. Does this sound right to you? I would be starting a higher dose of hormones after my period. Is that okay? Also, what are the chances I will have btb? Thank you!!

Just skip the placebo pills and go to the next pack and finish that pack just like normal. This is how my gyno told me to skip periods. It is perfectly safe, just skip the pills this one time and continue like you normally would with a new pack.
