The right antidepressant for me, that is. I've tried Zoloft before at a high dose which didn't do jack. I was ready to switch off of my current antidepressant, Celexa (I've been taking it at 20 mg for three months with minimal change), but my psych decided to increase the dosage instead. I feel GREAT! I have TONS more energy, am actually content with myself, and can listen to upbeat music without feeling low. I feel normal for once and so happy. It's only been a week but I feel 'renewed'. It has also helped with my anxiety too. It has a noticeable change on me and I hope it continues to work. BTW, I'm on 30 mg now. I feel so good! I haven't felt this awesome in years.

I'm so happy for you!
I just wanted to know if you started off with 10 mgs. or 20mgs. at the beginning and gradually increased it to 30 mgs. Also how long have you been taking Celexa for? Your reply would be greatly appreciated.
Christine.

I started at 10 mg. After a week, he increased it to 20 mg. I stayed at that dosage for three months. After it wasn't helping me much, my psychiatrist increased it to 30 mg. I didn't have to gradually increase to 30.

Today my doctor prescribed Celexa for me in addition to the Klonopin I already take. I'm really leary about taking Celexa because every thing I've read about it says that you gain weight. I went off Effexor awhile ago and it took me months to lose the weight I gained while taking that. I'd appreciate any info on weight gain while on Celexa.
Thanks.

PJO-
I've been on Celexa for 1 1/2 years, works good for my mood, but I've gained 30 lbs on it. The weight will not come off no matter what I do, so I'm gonna have to try something else.

My husband was on Celexa and never gained an ounce.
No problem; but he asked to switch to Lexapro, which
he is very happy with as it has little or no side
effects. Good luck!
