My boyfriend is 23 and was diagnosed with anklosing spondarthritis about 3 yrs ago.
The arthritis seems to effect his feet the most, although he does get other aches and pains. A while back, his feet gave him so much pain that he struggled to walk without assistance. His doctor gave him sulphazaline and painkillers and advised him to take them for the rest of his life. The drugs definatley seem to help as he is now up and about and walking again, however I am worried about the long term effects of these drugs.
Is there anyone else out there that has this type of arthritis? Are these drugs ok to take over the long term? Will the arthritis get worse? Any advice?
It would be great to hear from someone.X
