Hi All,
I have come down with the flu (fever, headache, fatigue). I called my on call pediatric nurse practioner and she said I probably should not breastfeed when I have a fever.
I have the "what to expect book" which says the opposite that you should continue nursing as it is the best way to keep the babys immune system strong to protect against getting the virus.
Has anyone else gotten information from their doctor on this issue. My 4 month old has never had formula and I just hate the idea of introducing it to her know while I am sick and can't devote much attention to her potential reaction.
help!
