I'm starting my first pack of OTC lo this coming friday since my period just started today. My doctor told me that I have to wait a month of being on the pill before I can have unprotected sex with my boyfriend, however, the brochure and other information I read on the internet about otc lo says that a week is long enough...how long should I wait?? Thank You!

well a week is enough really but the doctor just wants to cover his butt probably so he is saying a whole month so your body can get used to the pill and all

Doctors often say "wait a month" to give the patient a chance to get used to taking the pill, so that it's more likely the pill-taking is perfect.
