View Full Version : Artificial sugars and AD

I am reading a book on Folk Medicine. I found to my great surprise that there is a link between AD and drinking a lot of diet drinks. The authors recommend that we drink the best no calorie drink of all - plain water.

They also say that taking aspirin or ibuprofen daily to keep the blood flowing (thins the blood) might be a good idea if our doctor agrees... this improves circulation in the head as well as in the heart.

My Mom never drank a diet cola in her life and she did take aspirin daily ... and followed all the other hints such as lots of exercise and mental stimulation. BUT, maybe those things helped put off dementia until her 90s instead of starting much earlier?

So along with spinach and blueberries and curry spice I will now add lots of plain water to my diet, and no artificial sweeteners .... pretty soon the list of acceptable food and drink will be so short that I will have to lose lots of weight .. maybe?? I could lose a few pounds ....

Love,

Martha

We all consume so much junk that the human animal was never meant to consume, it's a wonder our bodies are able to function at all... If we could somehow step back and think of what we were meant to eat(in the wild)...it's really a lot simpler than we all try and make it out to be. Of course that's not going to keep someone that's 90 years old healthy. :p
