Hello Ladies!

I started ortho when I was 17 (I am 22 now) and soon after starting the pill my vision slowly began diminish. It's not that I am blind, but I had PERFECT vision until I started the pill and now I need glasses really bad in order to see far away. I didn't think much of it until I spoke with a friend of mine who was also on Ortho and had the same situation with loss of eyesight. I was just curious as to whether anyone else has found their vision worsening after starting ortho or any other pill???

I got off the pill about a year ago, mostly due to mood swings and driving my boyfriend crazy, but also due to this strange eye thing and gaining weight. Does anyone have any reccomendations for a pill that really does reduce moodiness and weight gain? I don't have acne issues or bad cramps or any other things.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
Thanks,
Jezabelly8

Have you told your doctor? The pill can cause eye problems. It is one of the more serious side effects. Not fatal I don't think. But I'm sure you don't want it to get worse.

I have been taking Tri-Cyclen for almost four years now. My vision has gone downhill as well (I started at 17 and I now wear glasses for distance with a weak prescription), but when I mentioned it to my doctor, she wasn't concerned. If you are having disturbances in your vision, like blurriness etc, then she said to be more concerned. She told me my need to get glasses is more of "aging" than anything else. I too had perfect vision and both my doctor and my eye doctor told me that when you have perfect vision, any tiny little change in your sight will affect you, since you are so used to seeing things perfectly. But to be safe, it might be a good idea to get it checked out.

WEIRD!!! I just recently got glasses for far away blurriness and never thought BC might have contributed to it.But I'm certain starring a computers all day, and being 26 doesn't help either!I was on Ortho Tricylne from 98-2002 and the patch from 2002-2004 & now I am back on Ortho. I want to change BC though because, it seems like Im a grump for 3 weeks with no sex drive. Any suggestions?
