Hi All,

I just started rice cereal with my 4 month old dd last week. I mixed it with water and gave her in the evenings for five days. She seemed to like it ok. The day after her first cereal she got very congested. This continued for the next three days or so, seeming to get worse in the evenings. She has also had evening screaming spells (something that is not normal for her).

Is there a possiblity that she could be allergic to the rice cereal? Has anyone else had a similar experience?

There is a flu going around so I don't know if that might actually be the issue, but she isnt running a temp.

my son is allergic to the cereal except i fed it to him and within an hour he was throwing up and had diarea(cant spell it) and was takin the the hospital because he seemed to be in so much pain, now he is on oatmeal and seems ok

I would stop it for a few days, and see if it clears up, then re-introduce it. Like Jr'smommy said, usually an allergic reaction would result in some vomiting, but not always. Did you call the doctor?
