let me fist start by saying that i don't want to have ms but i just want to know what IS wrong with me! I have been poked & prodded on for over a year now and still no answers. 3 Dr say we think ms based on sx but no tests to support it. I have basilar artery migraines which my neuro is now saying is causing all of the sx that i am having. i just don't understand it. i know that i'm no dr, but i don't understand how a migraine can cause you to all of a sudden to not be able to feel your legs for 2 days which in turn cause you to fall down a flight of stairs. can migraines cause you to have constant muscle spasms & twitches all over your body, cause you to say wrong words & have dyslexic moments, wet yourself, have extreme fatigue, vision problems including jerky eye movements, and the list goes on. The neuro says he is not going to totally rule out ms yet, & wants to do another MRI with contrast on a T3 machine in April just to see if things could have changed and since all the other mri's where done on a t2 machine whatever that means. I'm sorry for being so long, but I'm so frustrated with all of this. What do you do when you know something is not right, but so far all the tests have came back ok.

Maybe I just need to vent a bit.

I guess I'm just afraid he's gonna stop with you have migraines and go no further and something else could be wrong too that he's not willing to see.

Alicia,

By all means VENT.Your Doc.is having the right approach a T3 machine will show lesions that don't show up on the T2 MRI.My understanding is that lesions under 2mm will not appear on a T1 or T2 mri.Migraines can mimic MS but not all symptoms.

I feel your frustrations of not having a diagnosis.I have a neurologist I really like and trust.I had a Lumbar Puncture done 8 days ago and now I'm having all sorts of symptoms I have not had in 4 months.I can hardly walk and my good leg is not so good anymore.I have muscle spasms that won't go away and they have raised all my meds to a max and no releif.2 neurologist state 99.9% probable MS and the new neurologist is insisting on the possibility of a muscular problem, even though the lumbar puncture results are not back yet.He is sending me to the cleveland clinic to a Neuromuscular Dr.I will explode if this dr says I need a neurologist.Keep listening to your body. You can MS symptoms for a few years before actual lesions appear on an MRI.With relapsing and remitting the lesions can disappear with time.Stay positive and keep venting.
Prayers to you
Toni
