When I was a young I was very much overweight and gained some stretch marks but back then they didn't really bother me so much and I managd to lose alot of my weight.
But afew years on I've put alot of weight back and I've really been hit bad by stretch marks! I've always had dry sensative skin so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.. Sometimes they've really got me down that I've thought about suicide, but I realise that I shouldn't let them put me down that far. I know there is no miracle cure and they will be there forever but I've heard quite alot of success storys with reducing the appearence of them. Does anyone have some good products or home remodies for me to try? I hear alot about using cod liver oil and vitamine E oil/creams aswell as cocoa butter but I don't know what to try.
Now I know I'm not the first guy to get stretch marks but my m8s have had one or two little marks at the most and I've got them on my sides upper arm and even on the back of my shoulder!

I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate any help given, I don't care if it costs me hundreds in creams so long as it helps reduce them abit!

I try to reply alot to these postings on stretch marks. I hope that I don't seem like a know-it-all, I really wish I knew absolutely nothing about them myself, cause personally I feel the same way as you do.

First off you aren't the only person in the world with them. I feel the same way, and I'm sure everyone else does too. My husband has stretch marks from weight gained due to an accident and plus he lifts. He isn't so self-consious about them as I am.
I on the other hand have plenty, my stomach, hips thighs and calves are covered and its hard, especially when I want to look sexy or feel young. I too have been depressed about my appearance and have sworn to do everything under my power to try to find some possible cure to get ride of them.
There are alot of home remedies to try, you can do the exfoliation scrub, you can massage coffee grinds into them, vit E, emu oil...the list goes on and on. If you do a search on this site, there are tons of postings on how to get rid of them.
You can also invest in expensive creams, such as myself. I usually try to have family members buy me them for gifts instead of investing myself cause personally I don't want to waste more than 25 bucks on myself.
You can also go to a dermatoligist and get retin A, or you can get laser surgery. I heard different view points on this, some people it worked wonders, and for other it didn't do nothing, and there are the rare cases that laser surgery made their sms seem worse.
I can probably go on and on and on about stretch marks, honestly they consume most of my thoughts and are the cause for my own depression and problems in life. But really, I've come to realize that we are more than the marks on our bodies and we live in a time when it seems that you need to be completely flawless to be acceptable. I really wish I was one of those people who can care less and just ignore them, but I have come to accept the fact that I'm not the only one with them and that I'm not going to miss out on life because I don't want to be seen like this.
Like I mentioned in a previous posting, just because stretch marks aren't a physical problem, they are a mental one and they can affect a person's self-image and esteem. So I think the best remedy for them is to talk to others who have them and know that you aren't the only one.
