I just heard that the rate of Alzheimers has skyrocketed - by 10,000%!! Since so many people are now on statins, I wonder if they can cause this disease. I've done some research, but can't post it here. What's ironic is that doctors are prescribing statins to reduce the chance of having the problem.

I was just reading that the brain, who's dry weight is comprised chiefly of fats, contains five to ten times as much cholesterol as other organs. It said that studies have shown that low-cholesterol is anathema to optimal cognitive function.

Naah...can't be.
I've been on Statins since last summer and have a TC of 128 and feel smarter than ever.
It's almost as if a curtain opened up. :D
The only thing I forgot lately was to take my cell phone with me and THAT was a true blessing to say the least. :D

Not true for me either...still sharp as a tack at a ripening age.
Where did you get the figure about the Alzheimer's increase of 10,000%...over what time period?
