My bf noticed a bump on his head last fall. It's about the size of a walnut and is a funny purplish/red color. His regular doctor said it was a sebaceous cyst and to leave it alone unless it bothered him. Well last month he hit it and it got inflammed. A dermatologist tried to lance it with no success. A biopsy was done and the results came in today. The dr said the bump is made up of lymphocytes; possible secondary to a bug bite. He's going next week to get a cortisone shot injected. The dr said not to worry, that it was fairly common. But he also suggested seeing a hematologist and that scares me.

Anyone hear of anything like this? Thanks so much in advance.
