Ok this will sound really weird to all of you, but here goes. My friend and I had just finished working out and she is a really silly girl, she does the craziest things. Well she grabbed this bubble rap and starting chewing it acting like a rabid animal. The she was like do it! So we both chewed on it together, do not ask me why. We can amuse ourselves so easily, so I did, just to be stupid and laugh at ourselves. I could feel my spit on my mouth and lips. Well then she was like eww I am bleeding. Sure enough there was some light colored blood on the part she was chewing (obviously mixed with saliva), Well, then I started freaking out, because I wondered if it got on me and if the spit on my face, on my mouth and in my mouth was really mine. After like 10 minutes I washed the area around my mouth with dish soap. I then rinsed with listerine. I felt it stinging in my mouth on a certain area, indicating a small sore. I was wondering if I could catch HIV/AIDS this way, supposing she had it. I am actually really scared.
I have no idea if she has it, I actually mentioned I am afraid of blood and aids and she was like, "I do not have aids", like I was being ridiculous. But who knows? She had a tough life growing up, mom was an alchoholic and I believe a drug user. She left home at like 16 and lived in a foster center. She has been on her own since, though she does get as much support as she can from other family members. I know this does not indicate having AIDS, but I wanted to explain her a little. She said she got tested after her current bf of 4 years and her started having sex, but who knows I have had trust issues with her. She has only had sex with one person.
But anyways what are my chances?

I am no doctor but your exposure was minimal at best. Saliva contains certain enzymes that destroy and prevent the virus from spreading. I read a recent study where saliva was infected by the virus, almost none ( can't remeber the exact numbers) were responsive. Once i refind the study i will post it. Therefore it would be extremely doubtful you were infected, considering your friend was HIV+ in the first place. God bless you.
Hope this helps.
