Hi All,
Is there anyone from the UK who has had the lap band treatment with NHS funding?

I'm in Portugal and we have a smilar thing here, and it's covered. Your first step should be to make an appointment with a bariatric doctor and he should be able to tell u what is covered and whats not, etc. Good Luck! (ps. i do know some one from the UK getting it doen in Belgium, so maybe its not.)

Thanks kat, I have now decided to go to Belgium rather than the NHS route, I am not prepared to wait, so I am booked in for 1st March.

also in England, about to have lap band fitted (Sarum Hosp, WInchester). will cost £5250 BUT am doing it here rather than Belgium option because you get follow up appointments included in that plus you can go back if problems. Follow ups included in price (and you must have them to get band adjusted). Any problems arising within 30 days also delat with without extra cost. As private, no real wait (2 weeks to see consultant and all other professionals and then op in 3 weeks.
