Hi,
I've had a cystoscopy done 3 days ago for a kidney stone (11mm x 14mm) in my right kidney. During the procedure, the doctor couldn't retrieve the stone (it was too far up) and had to settle for pushing it back into the kidney and inserting a stent (catheter) between the right kidney and the bladder. Next I will undergo lithotripsy to have the stone reduced in size (since it's too big to pass), but that is likely in a few weeks' time.
And here is the question: I'm a fairly active person, and would like to go skiing this weekend. There's still blood in my urine (though it's starting to go away and it's there mostly in the morning). Would the procedure I just had done affect my ability to ski? More to the point, is there any added danger because of it? Skiing is likely what dislodged the stone in the first place (which is good in the long run).
EDIT: I've been prescribed antibiotics (to prevent infection) which I am taking twice a day, as well as pain relievers (Tylenol 3) which I haven't felt the need to take at all. There's obviously discomfort when I urinate, but that's about it. I'm mostly worried about the stent causing damage to the kidney / urethra / bladder. Is this even possible?
