hiya, ive been dying my hair for..ages. i dyed it red for a while, now im sick of it,i tryed to dye over it, *brown* but,the red tints are still there! i was just wondering,if there are any 'natural' or none damaging ways to get rid of red tints?

I had the same problem...and to tell you the truth the more I tried to fix it...even with a hairdresser the worse it got. Red tints are the hardest to get rid of. I hve just learned to deal with it and I am currently in the process of growing it out. It doesnt look as bad as i thought it would because i dyed it close enough to my natural hair and then added highlights to break up the roots.

I dyed my hair red one time on accident and I went to a beauty store and they gave me a clarifying shampoo that I could use about once a week. It got rid of the red, but I did this about 12 hours after I made the mistake. Im not sure if it works in the long run, but thats the only thing I know of.

My hairstylist got the red tints of out my hair by using toner. It made it more "ash" instead of red or brassy. It helped me and I don't have any red in my hair at all now. Also, what I did MYSELF one time was I just dyed it a darker color. My hair was light brown and I dyed it a darker brown and that worked very well too. Now it's currently highlighted and is almost all blonde so the toner works well for me. I wouldn't try that part at home though.
