I used to post on here years ago for anorexia/bulimia, thot i'd get some opinions...
Did anyone see Dr. Phil today?
It was appaling. I don't want to describe it too much, b/c there's no point, unless you saw it, you really can't comment on it.
But for anyone with an ED who did see it...could you relate to this woman at all? I couldn't, not by a long shot. I was furious listening to her pin her behav on anorexia. I'm thinking, I met so many girls with ED while getting treatment, and I've never met anyone like her. I posted on dr phil boards that this lady was totally full of it, her cruelty had nothing to do with anorexia and got all these responses about how anorexia is a disease. LOL yeah I know that, unfort.
I just feel she did a big disservice to everyone who's anorexic, making it seem like anorexia=bullying sociopath.

no I didnt see the show today although I normally watch. Maybe there was a reason I didnt watch it, because from how u say the lady was I probably would have been appalled too.....I am anorexic and there are times I get mean, but it isnt because of my anorexia, it's because of the other problems I have besides anorexia, all of the things that have happened to me n my life that were horrible and I lockked away inside too scared to tell anyone and thats why I get mean not the anorexia itself. I agree with you. If he's going to have an anorexic on the show to help them, then it should be someone that most anorexics could relate to so it could in turn maybe give us a little insight and encouragement. Any time you wanna talk I'm here, I know how it is, I gave up posting on this board a while ago because there would be hundreds of veiws and no one would post back at all, when this is supposed to be a kind of support group.....at least it was at one point, when the fight club was still going on anyways. I quit comin because of that, but lately things have gotten very bad and stressful and I ended up asking for help, im in treatment, which is so hard and i really needed support from those who have been there, this time i actually got some replies and it meant a lot.....so if u need anything im here....chrissy

chrissy, i just wanted to post quickly and say hi. (i remember you from before.) anyway, i urge you to keep coming back and posting. these boards were REALLY quiety and unhelpful for a while, but lately they've been GREAT! lots of posts and replys and things to think about. anyway, keep writing!
